Spring preggy style: Red on powder pink
Posted: Apr 14 2015
I’ll admit that I don't feel very cute when I’m pregnant. I’m not one of those women who love how they feel and look when in "this condition" :). I feel so very blessed to be charged with bringing a precious soul into the world. However, in addition to all the physical discomfort that I experience (Yes, I’ve been here before…. this is number 2 :), I really struggle with what to wear. The main reason (i think) is that my typical closet is quite structured and fitted, so once I’m about 6 weeks preggy, none of my dresses or skirts fit and so “Houston, we have a problem!”I remember being so frustrated about my closet when I was carrying my first-born, I felt so dowdy!
So, I decided that I would try harder this time even though the thought of investing in a stylish maternity wardrobe annoys me as these are clothes that I would only wear for a few months only to afterwards either cast them into the deep recesses of my closet or to give them away. Anyway, I resolved to try harder this time and I’ve found some neat and very affordable ways to stay true to me while accommodating my ever-expanding stomach!
This ASOS maternity dress is one of the treasures that I found. I wore it to a wedding and actually made some style adjustments to the front of it by having the front gathered in at the waist with elastic thread as I wasn’t entirely pleased with the original design of the front of the dress.
